EQ2 Race Change Potion

So I see Sony finally posted about the complete collection over on EQ2 Players, but it seems to take a back seat to the Race change potion. For 2500 Station cash ($25) you can pick a new race.

EQ2 Good races: Dwarf, Froglok, Halfling, High Elf, Wood Elf, and Fae.

Can now become: Assassin, Brigand, Bruiser, Coercer, Defiler, Inquisitor, Necromancer, or Shadowknight.

and

EQ2 Evil races: Arasai, Dark Elf, Iksar, Ogre, Ratonga, Sarnak, and Troll.

Can become: Conjuror, Illusionist, Monk, Mystic, Paladin, Ranger, Templar, or Swashbuckler.

So I guess if you wanted that unique look for a class it just became a little easier. You could do it before but it involved doing the Betrayal quest.

Best bet?  Wait for another Double Station Cash Weekend! ;-) That way you can do two for the price of one. I know it worked last time because the kids dragged dear ole Dad to get it for Free Realms and that was only about a month ago.

See you in Norrath soon

Gaming update

Well I have been busy with a  plethora of games lately. I played Age of Conan for the free month and enjoyed the game very much.  I was surprised that the game ran so well on my aging PC.  I made 4 chars my highest only reaching level 29 an Assassin. I also played a Ranger, Guardian, and a Tempest of Set. I can see myself coming back to it around the time the next expansion comes out.

I also played City of Heroes and Villains for the free double xp long weekend. About 5 free days. Grouping was almost non stop. I was surprised  at how easy it was to log in and get in a group. I guess a lot of people were trying out Issue 16. It was an awesome  time.

In Lotro I have been enjoying the free time being offered and the xp bonus. I have been playing my little hobbit Hunter. Is it weird he is almost level 22 and the only time I play him is when its a free weekend? I wonder if I can get him to level 50 on just welcome back weekends? hehe… I am tempted by the upgrade to Mines of Moria for $9.99. I think it comes with a free month of play time. Then I could log in my 50 and work on getting him to the new cap of lv 60. Also if I sign up for three months at $9.99/ month I would get the free expansion coming out in Dec. Siege of Mirkwood where the cap is being upped to lv 65.

In EQ2 I am pondering a return. I am still not sure when the complete collection is coming out. It could be today or at the end of the month.  SOE where is the advertising for this? Is your game not running well atm?

The kids seem bored with with Wizard 101 atm and have been playing Club Penguin nonstop. They bought membership cards and seem to be enjoying the Halloween events.

In fantasy football surprise surprise I am the man to beat going 5-1. The smack board is getting crazy. hehe.. .

Well off to go do some trick or treats in WoW, easy xp during the Hallow’s End event going on now.

Gaming goodness for October

Just a heads up. I am surprised not many posts on this.

Starting on Oct. 8th City of Heroes is having a Double XP Weekend and Account Reactivation.

Also if you have ever thought about trying EQ2 it sounds like they have a special coming out this month. Everquest II: The Complete Collection.

Everything for $19.99 plus 60 days of gameplay? Yes please! ;-)

Also lets not forget all the Halloween stuff going on in most games.  *Taps foot while waiting on kids to finish playing Wizard101 Halloween stuff*

It’s been awhile since I posted

With all the new games coming out I have been doing a lot of reading. Back in the day it didn’t take so long. There are so many forums and blogs about all the games now it takes a lot of time to keep up with all that is going on. Being a true altoholic  applies to games too. I like all the ones I try. Lol. I use to just read about DAOC. Now I read about WoW, AoC. Lotro, EQ2, Aion, City of Heroes, DAOC, Champions Online, DDO, etc… The thing is I can’t play all of them. So many good games fighting for your hard earned money and time today it makes my head spin.

My main game is WoW but after years of playing I do enjoy dabbling in other games from time to time. Its what keeps the game fresh for me, that and having more alts then anyone I know. Half of the adventure is sitting down at the chair and saying “Hmmm where shall I go tonight.”

(Note to self) post more often ;-)

Are you ready for some football?

Well it seems a year or more has past and its time for my Fantasy football league to start its draft again. Last year was my first time trying it and I didn’t do that well but this year will be better. Right ?!?…

It does make those days football is on more interesting to watch.

Some observations from last year.

Players get injured a lot. I was surprised that very few of the players made it through a whole season playing every game.

Its hard to find players that do consistently well week after week.

Fantasy football is serious business. Have you seen how many magazines about it are at your local grocery store?  Lol  It has a fan base that is as big as gamer following I think.

Well that its for my rambling this moring. If you know any hot picks for tomorrow night please let me know in the comments. Im off to get a new printer ink cartridge so I can print off my cheat sheet. ;-)

Let me tell you of the day of high adventure!

Well I finally got around to loading up Age of Conan.  I wasn’t sure what to expect.  I was pleasantly surprised and had a lot of fun.

I put the disc in and let it patch up. It took around 6 hours maybe?  Everything ran smooth. I am still running around Tortage. I made a Stygian Assassin on the Set server.  I don’t think he is the best soloer but I don’t mind.  I got to level 10 . Most of the night was spent in the character creation part of the game. I still have lots to learn , but to me this is whats fun about starting a new game.

So if you see an Assassin running for his life from a group of Picts please save me. hehe

Ugh where has the time gone?

Has it really been a month or more since I has posted anything? Amazing how fast the summer goes. I raise a glass in toast to those who blog daily. I also notice that the chat is affecting my grammar skills. I think the old nuns are rolling in their graves if the could read this, you know the one that would whack your desk  with a yard stick if caught nodding off during a lecture or day dreaming. Hehe ;-)

So what have I been doing or playing?

My two biggest time sinks lately have been Rep dailies for my first Vlcan 80, and Battlefieldheroes.  The other tackling the 900 pound Gorilla that is Everquest.  Oh yes my sweet enemy I have found you. * Gets the Captain Ahab fanatical look in his eyes* Curse or no we battle on. (but more on that later).

Well off to go (gasp!) school shopping. Pray for me. Lol

Death comes in Threes

A pause in gaming.

This is so wierd. Of all the superstitions this one seems to come true the most often. A few hours ago I learned that Ed McMahon and Farrah Fawcett died. I told my wife I wonder who’s next before taking a shower and then a nap. I wake up and make a cup of coffee, enter my tokens for the WoW Mt Dew game then grab my keys. As I am taking my son to a friends house I hear on the radio that Michael Jackson is dead. I am in shock.

If its not true I still wonder who is next? The Grim reaper has a cruel sense of humor.

Sorry I had to blog this but im freaking out a bit. Maybe I made my coffe too strong.

It’s fun to be King for a day

I am talking about Father’s day. ;-) What did I do? I just wanted to stay home, play games and grill my steaks.

The fire festival started on WoW Father’s day and this really helps the alts move along. You get some nice exp tossing some torches and doing some torch catching.

I did entertain the idea of trying EQ2 again but the day before while shopping I went to 4 stores and none of them had a copy of The Shadow Odyssey. Why not activate my old account? I wiped my hard drive and reinstalled Windows. D’oh! I am not sure how to reinstall it back to the way it was? Do I just put in the original copy and patch for hours till its current?

The other reason to buy a new copy would be so I could create 7 new guys. Gosh I hope the new EQ2 expansion lets us make an extra character slot. I mean the game has been out for years I have friends on servers all over the place. To get the best bang for the buck it pays to have them all on one server. So new people returning to the game who want to join friends on other servers  get screwed by either having to pay to transfer, deleting old chars to make new ones, or forced to buy another copy of the game. This is madness! (insert Sparta quote here).

{Note to EQ2 devs. Let people make at least one character per server so we can have a chance to play with friends on all of your servers. Call it a teaser.}

I was gonna install Age of Conan but then I saw Openedge’s post about Patch 1.05 may launch Wednesday. Noooeesss! That means it might be a week or two more of making sure it runs silky smooth while they get the bugs out.

My turn yet?

Well summer is here. My kids who used to watch Dad play have gotten a year older and now play the games nearly as well as me and sometimes better.  As a result my game time is not what it used to be. Naturally they were at the Free Realms concert yesterday. Other games that have been keeping them busy include Wizard 101, Webkinz, FunOrb, Club Penguin, Runescape, AdventureQuest, World of Warcraft, etc..

So when I get my turn to play I catch up reading blogs, E3 info, and leveling WoW characters. Yes I could use another computer maybe 2 hehe, but I am going to wait until the new games come out that usually require better hardware.

Games I would like to try this summer include Age of Conan, Vanguard, Warhammer Online, and TheSims 3.
